Back in time...until it got too hot and I wanted air conditioning.

My youngest and I went on a little excursion last week to a local historical museum. Fredericton was founded in 1785, and I'm glad I wasn't here then.
No, I am. Seriously.

Two words:
AIR CONDITIONING.

Okay....

Can anyone tell me what's different about this clock?

Seriously...think...

Here's our nice tour guide/re-enacter showing us a 3 sided bayonet, for when you want that flesh wound to gush all over the place.

The break room. Ohh, nice straw mattress. NO chance of vermin in there!!

Me want this desk!!

Note the snow shoes. All those poor Red Coats would have been weeping for England.

Keys and locks and umm, those are some KEYS.

(Zach kept apologizing to people for wearing the loser's shirt.)

Nice hat. It was actually meant to be that small. It was meant to come off if a bullet went in it.

Love the bling.

No, I don't care how cool history is, I'm glad to read it and write it, but BLISSED I didn't live it.

  1. Jennifer! Great pics and post! Love Zach's hat and all the other bling:) So wish I could have been with you all as this is my sort of outing. You're a first class photographer. Thanks for tagging me on FB as I wouldn't want to have missed it!

    1. It was fun, and the guide was really knowledgable.
Although, I was looking over my shoulder, waiting for Red Shirt to arrive and save me from the umm, mosquito. Yeah, that's it.

As for the photos, thanks. I took them with my phone! Ha! Those phone cameras are awesome.

  2. I'm clueless about the clock, but that looks like a fun outing. Love the hat pic. I'd say that hat would fall off with a sneeze, much less a bullet!

    1. We had to ask why the hats were so small. And I had no idea why, until the guide told us that they were meant to be fall off if the soldier was shot. Which made me think that the enemy would frequently just aim for the head. YAY.

"Here, wear this hat. The Rebels/Colonials/Americans will shoot it."

  3. I don't even want to go back to the 70s.

    1970s.

    Think about it.

    Big hair.

    Polyester bell-bottoms.

    Disco.

    "What's your sign, baby?"

    Ugh.
