Pet Peeves and promotions....

"Hey kids!!"

Remember that?
It preceded almost every annoying commercial on Saturday morning TV. It drove me nuts, even as a child.

And YES,we had TV back then.

And yes, I knew Gilligan's Island was as dumb as they got. Why? Because I could read. I had no patience for shows that portrayed adults as idiots.

Another pet peeve?
Phentex.
Anyone remember that?

What did they make that stuff with? Shredded cable? And if it burned, it looked surprisingly like plastic.

Speaking of plastic, I loathe polyester. I actually break out in hives if I wear nylons for too long. Now, don't get me wrong, polyester suits have their place, like cleaning up oil spills and being ground cloths for when I refinish antiques.

Although these chicks look so happy in their casual attire formulated from non-recyclable polymers and non-oxygenating layers of solar protection.

But they're not really running, unless it's away from whoever made them dress like this.

So, a few more pet peeves?
-empty juice cartons still in the fridge
-food containers in back packs, with apple cores that are GREY!!
-snow
-people who tailgate
-people who drive so slow you think they've run out of gas
-snow
-friends in California who whine about the cold. 65F in January is not cold!
-people who want meals when I'm writing, gah! Come on! We have a toaster!!

No, before you go all "waaaaaaaah!" and tell me your pet peeves...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So? What are some of your pet peeves??
Dishes?
Snotty kids in the church nursery?
Bratty kids?
Bring it on!
  1. N-Y-L-O-N-S....what are those again? Oh yes, I think I threw my last pair away about 10 years ago. :) You have such a fun way of sharing your thoughts, Jennifer.
    Let's see, some of my pet peeves are drivers who roll through stop signs, sweaters that shrink, even when they don't go through the dryer, and kid trash left in MY vehicle. :)
    So, are you starting a second blog? Your March authors should be excellent! I'm looking forward to stopping back.
    Have a great day, my friend!
    1. Stop sign?I thought that meant "hey, no, sorry, keep going".
      Yes, the blog is a team effort FOR writers WITH writers and should be a safe place to hang out and discuss everything from edits to marriage in fiction. That is something we feel very strongly about, the lack of focus on healthy marriages in fiction.
      Thanks for the visit!
  2. Love those polyester dresses, Jennifer! Ha! My pet peeve? The theme song to "Jessie" on Disney or Nickelodeon or whatever channel puts that show on. I want to hurl a brick through my television when I hear it!!
  3. I love the "they're running from whoever made them wear the dresses!" bit!
    And Supernanny! JoJo! I love her!
    Fun thoughts today. And it's kinda cold out here at 40-ish...just kidding! I know how that real Northern cold feels, and it ain't no joke! Still, it's lovely sometimes.
      Yes, I'm looking forward to the guests too.
      I still hate the cold. And 40-ish is tropical.
  5. The lack of folks who appreciate the artistry of rock operas based off of videogames.
    Bonnets. Oh my, bonnets. I like love stories, I enjoy writing a good love story, but my goodness, trying to find a love story without bonnets is like trying to find a book without boy wizards a few years back!
    Aha! When I read on Heathers' blog about the "Married....With Fiction" blog that's upcoming, I started to make some guesses as to who'd be on it! Good concept, and something the industry really needs.
  6. Hi Larry, ah yes, "Tommy", I can hear it!
    I am not fond of bonnet novels, to put it mildly.
    So, did you track us all down? Us MWF bloggers?
    Thanks for the visit!
  8. Ms. Jennifer!
    I finally made it over here today! Fun stuff. I don't have any pet peeves. I love everyone and everything just the way they are...........
    Especially when I'm freezing to death in my 65 degree weather! It's cold, I tell you. COLD! I did grow up on the equator, so I have an excuse. We had two seasons: Wet and Dry. The rains came in monsoons and the "dry" season meant that the moisture stayed in the air... think 'sauna' climate. I don't ever remember a night that got colder than 68 degrees and I was there for 16 years. So a high of 65? Oh yeah, baby. Mama's chillin' for realz.
    Looking forward to your peeps in March - what a great line up! And that whole Married...With Fiction website. It's about time.
