44 seconds with The Death-Cam.

THIS is why "praying for your missionary" is critical!!

And just so you know?

This was one of the mellow, easy, not so scary roads.

All in all, there were about 4 days of this kind of driving.

And the "guy in the rear view mirror" from my last post? That was his driving. He's a REALLY good driver.

And it's all worth it, every last nail biting second, so I can give people a radio that will tell them about Jesus.

And meet little dudes who like my shades.

And learn true kindness from ladies who have almost nothing but cook all day for the team and kiss you senseless when you thank them with a new cooking knife.

And cuddle little angels named Maya.

Talk about drawing a crowd!

Bolivia is absolutely beautiful!!

Next time on From The Redhead?

How sick is SICK?

Is it when you can't move your arms and legs?
When you can't walk?
Or when you need oxygen between flights?

  1. Oh my word, my hubby would NOT like this video!! Talk about heights! And the pics are priceless--love the little boy w/your glasses and the little girl. And you! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hey Heather! I actually enjoy the driving, there's beauty around every corner. The little girl followed me around for HOURS. She was a doll.

  2. We are SO JEALOUS! What a wonderful experience...I'll bet these pictures are but a pale rendering of the pictures in your heart.

    1. Someday, you're BOTH coming with me. You and a few other Miscreants and beloved writer friends.

  3. Hi Jennifer,

Love your hat!! Maya is definitely cute. Did you teach her any English? Did she teach you any Spanish or Quechua?

    1. Maya was a fireball! I mispronounced her name, thinking she said "Mai"
She held my face and said "No, mi llame es May-AH!"
Which means, "Nooooo, my name is May-AH!"
She was adorable. She taught me how to say "I lost my ball." Poor little dolly. :(

  4. Jennifer, Dahling,

Loving the recap of your trip - and your pics are priceless. So glad you got to make this trip. Wow.

    1. Thanks Becky!! I need to go back and read my journal and share some of my thoughts too. It was quite an experience.

  5. There's no way I would have been able to look out the window! I would have been scrunched as far right as I could get, desperately staring at the passenger-side of the car. Oh, and praying my head off!

The people are beautiful. I'm so happy you get to enjoy the experience of sharing your time with them. :)
